Twelve Tags of Christmas: Day 9

Nine Ladies Dancing

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three french hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

From the first day of my festive challenge, I was very much looking forward to making the Nine Ladies Dancing tag. Don’t get me wrong, I was excited about every day of the series and had fun making each one of the previous tags, but this lady is just so graceful, dancing in her blush chiffon dress with a corsage and evening gloves. She is also very big — the biggest character on the G45 Twelve Days of Christmas title page (the only page from that collection I have! Shocking!). I am happy I finally got to work with this pretty lady, and I like the result.

I used Once Upon a Springtime for the yellow background and pink flowers. Not particularly wintery, is it? So I made sure to utilise the last few days of having my Christmas tree up, and took a photo of the tag on it — this is my (only) proof that it is indeed a Christmas tag.
